Textile Collage
A collaborative workshop to understand the social and environmental impacts of textiles, connect production, consumption and end of life, and explore opportunities for action around everyday clothing practices together.
Textile Collage connects raw materials, production chains, consumption, care and the end of life of clothing. It makes visible the social and environmental impacts of a sector that is part of everyday life but often receives little attention. Through these connections, participants can put tastes, purchasing habits and questions of overproduction into perspective. The workshop opens a broader discussion about resources, social justice and sufficiency. It provides a starting point for examining opportunities to change practices individually, in a group or within an organization, and for understanding how clothing choices relate to wider issues.
It is a strong entry point for younger audiences, creative communities, or venues that want to start with a very tangible issue.
- This workshop is developed by its own association. Ecogames helps organize it, include it in public events, and connect venues with trained facilitators.
- Ecogames distributes more than half of registration fees back to the workshops' supporting associations, funding their deployment, evolution, and updates.
